Building a world that welcomes and respects people living with HIV

HIV Confident is the UK’s largest anti HIV stigma programme. It is a charter mark for organisations to join, to ensure that any of their members of staff or service users who are living with HIV do not experience stigma or discrimination.

Benefits of becoming HIV Confident

  • Make your workplace and services inclusive and safe for people living with HIV
  • Strengthen staff awareness, knowledge and confidence around HIV facts and building a non-stigmatising environment
  • Improve your organisation's practices and processes to align with best practice, ensuring policies operate within relevant legislation
  • Provide valuable quality and standards to Care Quality Commission, regulators and/or funders
  • Show your commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and tackling social inequalities

All of us should be able to thrive at work and access the services we need. But many people living with HIV can still encounter stigma and unlawful discrimination. HIV Confident is a charter mark for businesses and organisations that will help you to ensure that people living with HIV can work for you and access any services you provide with confidence.
